Law and Order. Unit 5

I am so excited to talk about this unit for two reasons

One because this is my first class from this English label, second because this is an important topic.

In this unit We saw a lot of information about law and order but We also saw some others topic like;

  • Use the passive of modal verbs on which We learnt how to use the modal verbs, for example :
Something must be done about the law and order in the Dominicana Republic
Students shouldn't be allowed to eat food on the buss.

  • Also in this unit We worked with the use of the get passive
The get passive is a type of sentence in which the subject receives the action of the verb - a form of get plus a past participle.
For example
My car gets fixed by a mechanic
The car get made in China

And finally We talked about the Law and order in the Dominican Republic and We all agreed that in our country almost 80% of Dominicans do not respect the laws and that is very sad because of that We are having a lot of problem in our society. I think We must change our government representative in order to have change in our system.

Unit 5

I like this unit so much, because has a good topic, and also the grammar is very useful in a conversation or in others points. In this unit I learned to improve the Passive of Modals Verbs and the Get passive vs. Be passive.  Talking about the Passive of Modal Verbs, I could learn something simple, but very important, and It's that you can never put ''to'' after a Modal Verb. The only exception that you can use '' to '' is with ought 'to'.  Also I read a conversation very interesting in this unit where I could learn,  how to use the expressions: Basilly, first (of all) and Another thing is... etc.

Law and Orden

Law and Orden
These are important things in the world, because without law and orden, the world would be totally distroyed, but regrettably these are been finished for people. Why? Because peolpe just want to do what they want wihtout caring the consecuences that these can bring, that's why  our planet is getting distroyed every single day. In our country the law and orden don't exist. I mean people have forgotten what are those things. The society in general don't respect them. If we respect them I am totally sure there would'nt be as much chaos as there are. People here in my country are just thinking in money, it means that laws can be broken for money. This is the biggest mistake we are making. We just think in ourselves, and not in our simblings. Another thing I can say, it's about Bonao, I think of here is a disaster. For instance the transit. As we know there are a lot of motorcycles and scooters, so when you are pretending to cross the street, and you see the vehicles like cars and trucks stopped, there is one driver riding a scooter or motorcycle almost over you, what I want to say it's that bonao is one of the town most disorganized and also that least respect the traffic lights.
