Unit 8

How to React when Your Apology isn't Accepted

If you have recently had an argument or wronged someone in any way, apologizing can be difficult. What can be even tougher is saying you’re sorry to someone who is unreceptive to the words. Whether you delivered the perfect “I’m sorry” or if it still needs a bit of work, you can work on reacting when your apology isn’t accepted by remaining calm, apologizing a second time, and then moving forward.
1. Keep your facial expressions neutral, but genuine.
2. Take a deep breath.
3. Avoid the defensive
4. Analyze possible solutions.
5. Put yourself in their shoes.
6. Take a break.

Unit 6. Superstitions

The superstitions listed in this video are some of the strangest superstitions around the world and yet the people of these respective countries firmly believe in them. People in Italy won’t shower after eating, while South Koreans are scared to fall asleep if a fan is turned on in their bedrooms. We may look upon these silly superstitions as hilarious, but for some it is no laughing matter. Even doctors in both Italy and South Korea insist by these superstitions and warn patients to adhere to them. On the other hand, there are some strange superstitions that we could get behind. Like eating twelve grapes as fast as possible on New Year’s Eve in Spain, in order to be blessed with twelve months of good luck. Stacking friends’ doors with broken porcelain dishes, like they do in Denmark sounds fun. It’s also a great way to show your loved ones how much you care.

A materialistic person

For me a materialistic person is the person that have more than the necessary ,
I mean , for example, I know people that have 3 and 4 for cell phones, and I think
that not fair , other case are women who have 20 and 26 pairs of shoes
those kind of women are materialistic.
We can find a lot of example of a materialistic person, in my case, honestly
I dont consider my self a materialistic.

in conclusion a materialistic person is a person who just value material
things, like money and possessions.
