Unit. 5 Law and Order









Hi guys!, today I bring you an important vocabulary about crime and punishment. You probably remember some of the next words because we saw them in Unit 5, but you'll also learn other useful words to write and talk about the crime's topic.



Abduction: Taking someone against their will (kidnapping).

Arson: Setting fire to a property.

Assault: A physical attack.

Burglary: Entry into a building illegally with intent to commit a crime, especially theft.

Child abuse: Physical or sexual maltreatment of a child.

Drug trafficking: Importing illegal drugs.

False imprisonment: Imprisoning a person against their will.



Fraud: Deception for personal or financial gain.

Hacking: Unauthorised access to data in a computer system.

Hijacking: Illegally getting control of an airplane, ship, or vehicle in transit and force it to go to a different destination or use it for one's own purposes.

Human trafficking: The illegal movement of people, typically for the purposes of forced labor or commercial sexual exploitation.

Terrorism: Unlawful violence or threat with political aims.


Murder: Kill (someone) unlawfully and with premeditation.

Genocide: Systematic killing of a race or religious group.

Patricide: Killing one's own father.

Euthanasia: Killing someone for their benefit.

Attempted murder: Planning to kill another person.

Organised crime: Crime by an organised gang or organisation.
